JUNO Award Winner Kiesza to Release New Album Crave August 14

Celebrates Over A Billion Career Streams

Toronto, ON – Canadian electro-pop artist and multi-JUNO Award winner Kiesza is back with a bang on August 14 with the release of her new album entitled Crave (Zebra Spirit Tribe/Kartel Music Group) which is her first album since the chart-topping, international hit album Sound Of A Woman. The album draws on emotions attached to Kiesza’s past to create a tender, stripped down sound with a nostalgic eighties vibe that allows her unique voice to shine through. Kiesza will also be performing on The Ellen Show on July 6. Tune in here

Kiesza’s ability to dive deep into her feelings and overcome her setbacks are showcased amongst the endlessly playable songs on the album. Crave is a nod to a decade Kiesza has always been drawn to, the eighties and rhe album demonstrates this in tracks such as ‘All the Feelings’, ‘Can’t Be Saved’, and ‘Crave’.

"There is so much I could and want to tell you about what it took to get to this album and why it sounds the way it does. I will tell you everything in time, but for now just know that this album is intended to lift you up. It’s there to give you a second wind and boost your spirit. I wanted it to be positive, for you and for me, as I know a lot of us need that right now. I’ve been on that same rollercoaster that you almost certainly have for the past five years; that one they call life," said Kiesza. "And there is still so much to share. It’s best to think of this album as that beautiful sunlit tip of the iceberg, while I slowly begin to take you beneath the surface. I’m beyond excited to shared this new body of work with you and I hope it adds some positive energy to your day as you listen through music. And thank you to my whole tribe, who are this reason this music is coming out. I love you.

Kiesza recently released the music video for the title track of her album, ‘Crave’. The video was shot at Youtube HQ in New York just ahead of lockdown and was directed by Emmy award winning producer James Barker (Queer Eye, Pawn Stars, HBO Max Legendary) alongside Ljuba Castot and Kiesza herself. Raised in Calgary, Kiesza managed to bring her unique carefree spirit to every journey she embarked on. As a former member of the Royal Canadian Navy, a ballet dancer, and beauty queen, the singer always danced to the beat of her own drum. She exploded onto the music scene in 2014, when her hit song “Hideaway became a global smash hit and fans fell in love with more than just her songs.

Kiesza continued to further her career by writing songs for incredible, chart-topping artists such as Rihanna and Jennifer Hudson, working with Duran Duran, and collaborating with several artists including Skrillex, Pitbull, and Diplo. Her career continued to skyrocket as she sold over a million copies of her album Sound Of A Woman.

In 2017 Kiesza suffered a dibiltating brain injury after a car crash that left her fearing she would never perform again, but hard work and determination helped her to push past her setbacks. A year after healing from the life changing accident, a miracle happened when Kiesza was able to get back to doing what she loved, music and dance.

Crave showcases Kiesza’s signature dance / pop music, passion for the arts and continues to give a fearless and honest portrayal of her life through her lyrics.

About Kiesza

A former Navy sniper in training, ballet dancer and beauty queen, Calgary-raised Kiesza is unique. She wrote for Rihanna and Jennifer Hudson, worked with Duran Duran and collaborated with Skrillex, Pitbull and Diplo. Her debut album, Sound of A Woman, sold more than a million copies. The two-time JUNO Award winner was recording with an opera singer and the producer Stuart Price (Madonna, The Killers) when, in 2017, she vanished overnight.

Hit by a taxi in her adopted hometown of Toronto in the summer of 2017, Kiesza initially thought she had escaped lightly with just a bang to the head and a busted wrist. It wasn’t until the following day that her head began to swell and the balance on the left side of her body went. Tests revealed that electrical pathways to one side of her brain had shut down and the following years meant a grueling road to recovery for Kiesza.

2020 marks a rebirth for Kiesza. After spending 2 years recovering from her injuries Kiesza is now back and ready to embrace the female pop landscape with her recent single ‘All of the Feelings’ and "Crave".
